Another Service Dog Success Story - Dash

Howdy, I am a Kentucky Lab out of Cheryl Moore's  for Pawsibilities Unleashed Service Dogs.  My Mom and Dad are both very smart.

I went to Aunt Liz for Diabetic Alert Dog training and Obedience.  I earned my AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Certification and my Canine Good Citizenship Certification before I went to New York.

Dash is perfect says his Mom.  Alerts are great.  Gives the Physical Signal for Alerting and Physical signals for High and Low.  She said they could not have asked for a better dog.

I had a great trainer named Liz Norris

Although she is too modest to say it, my trainer, Aunt Liz is an excellent trainer and that also has a lot to do with why so many dogs she trains are successful service dogs.

Excellent bloodlines with a sweet, calm disposition and a strong desire to please purposely bred into the dogs  also have a good deal to do with a Service Dog's success or failure.

Cocoa - My Story  Diabetic Alert Service Dog

Hi!  My name is Cocoa and I am a chocolate lab pup from Kentucky Labs.  We were bred for our great temperament (laid back) and ability to work with children, plus great scent ability.

I was trained for a young boy of 5 years.  He was diagnosed as Type 1 Diabetic at the age of 14 months.  He needed constant care and testing blood sugars 8-10 times per day.  Due to his age, he does not always identify when he is having a llow or high blood sugar.  He needs vigilant watching by adults.  He is seen by his endocrinologist every 3 months.

My little boy and his Mom came to met me in December of 2009.  I got to go to my new home before Christmas!  Yeah!

They were amazed at my wonderful manners and how well I handled public access, new environment, sounds, people and my job.  We did a very intense work week together and they took home a dog that was alerting very well, thru puppy basic obedience, manners 101 and I had started my night alerting as well.  for the rest of the story click on:  Pawsibility Update.
